Kammie Jo Furman, MS, LAC, is a primary therapist at Cornerstone Healing Center in Scottsdale, where she brings a lifelong passion for helping others and creating meaningful social change. Her calling to serve others began as a young girl, when she created a small community newspaper called Kammie’s Korner to build connections with her neighbors. Growing up, she also learned the importance of being heard—a value she now weaves into her work with clients. Driven by her humanitarian spirit and dedication to ending neglect and suffering, Kammie pursued three master’s degrees in psychology and counseling to fulfill her mission of helping others heal.

Kammie’s therapeutic style is deeply person-centered, inspired by the principles of Carl Rogers. She believes that people inherently know themselves well enough to resolve most of their challenges, and she sees her role as helping clients rediscover the “tools” they already have within. Known for her honesty, compassion, and direct yet empathetic approach, Kammie guides clients through self-discovery, helping them reconnect with their authentic selves. She specializes in trauma-informed care, substance use and addiction issues, sexual concerns, narcissistic abuse, and mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. With experience working with children, incarcerated individuals, and adult offenders—including those in substance treatment since 2014—Kammie brings a wealth of expertise and understanding to her work.

Outside of therapy, Kammie is a lover of the outdoors and enjoys camping, road trips with her children and best friend, and lazy days with her two cats, Charlie Tyrone and Coco Sheneneh. She also loves puzzles, diamond painting, reading, journaling, and volunteering. Her favorite book is The Alienist by Caleb Carr, she can’t resist a good bowl of cereal (often as a nightly meal), and her go-to movie is Grandma’s Boy.

Above all, Kammie strives to make each client feel valued and seen, reminding them that they are far more than any label they’ve been given.
