The Benefits of Cornerstone's Outpatient DRUG REHAB Program

Comprehensive Recovery in a Supportive community Environment

Our outpatient program is designed to deliver intensive, individualized treatment within the supportive environment of our recovery center. Clients engage in structured healing while integrating the experience into daily life. For clients who need it, we provide supportive housing in Scottsdale and Phoenix, Arizona, ensuring access to a stable and safe environment that fosters recovery.

Benefits Individuals transitioning from inpatient care

Our outpatient program delivers more intensive and involved care than our standard outpatient program. It’s tailored for those who seek more intensive support and continuous guidance without the need for round-the-clock medical monitoring. Our flexible arrangements can accommodate various schedules, ensuring you can fully engage in recovery.

Our Intensive Outpatient Rehab Program Provides a Higher Level of Support

Our outpatient program is crafted for individuals who need a comprehensive support system yet do not require the round-the-clock supervision that inpatient treatment entails. Our recovery program bridges the gap between inpatient care and the autonomy of outpatient services by providing a robust framework of therapy sessions, skill-building workshops, and continuous care.

Our Outpatient Program Provides Flexibility to Those Who Need it Most

Given the required dedicated time commitment, our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is particularly well-suited for individuals with flexible schedules. This includes remote workers who can manage their work hours, self-employed individuals who have the autonomy to adjust their business schedules, or those currently transitioning between jobs and can dedicate their time to recovery.

Get answers to the most commonly asked questions about our Intensive Outpatient Program

What is the intensive outpatient program like?

At Cornerstone Healing Center, our Intensive Outpatient Program bridges full-time care and the real world. It’s perfect for those stepping down from residential treatment or who need a step up from regular outpatient rehab. Our IOP fits into your life, letting you manage work, school, or family, all while getting the intensive support you need.

In our outpatient drug rehab, you’ll spend several hours each week—spread over a few days—in therapy. This isn’t one-size-fits-all care; it’s a blend of one-on-one and group sessions, ensuring you get the personal attention you need and the community support vital for recovery.

We’re all about the latest therapy, from cognitive-behavioral and dialectical behavior therapies to mindfulness and holistic healing—all parts of our comprehensive outpatient drug rehab center’s approach. And if you’re juggling mental health challenges alongside addiction, we’ve got the dual diagnosis support you need.

But it’s not just about therapy. In our IOP, you’ll learn the life skills and coping strategies you need to stay sober long-term. It’s about taking what works in therapy and making it work in your life. As you grow in confidence and resilience, our experienced therapy team will be with you every step, cheering you on and ensuring you’re ready for lasting success in your recovery journey.

Are intensive outpatient programs effective in treating addiction?

Yes, Intensive Outpatient Programs are effective in treating various types of addiction.[1],[2],[3]. These programs provide a high level of care while allowing individuals to live in their homes and maintain certain everyday activities, balancing intensive treatment and independence.

The effectiveness of IOPs can largely be attributed to their comprehensive and flexible nature. They provide several hours of weekly therapy, including individual therapy, group therapy, and often family therapy. This mix allows for personalized care, peer support, and family involvement, all of which are crucial elements in addiction recovery.

Moreover, IOPs often incorporate evidence-based treatment approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and other types of therapy that are effective in treating addiction.[4] They also include education on addiction and recovery, skill-building, and prevention strategies.

The structure and routine of IOPs can help individuals develop new, healthier habits and behavior patterns, which are key to long-term recovery. IOPs also provide support for co-occurring mental health issues, which can be crucial for individuals with dual diagnoses.

However, it’s important to note that the effectiveness of an IOP can also depend on the individual’s specific needs, their level of commitment to recovery, and the quality and appropriateness of the IOP. Therefore, selecting an IOP that is a good fit for the individual’s unique situation and needs is crucial.

As with all treatment options, it’s also crucial to consider IOP as a step in the continuum of care. Successful recovery often involves progressing through different levels of care and continuing with ongoing support even after completing an IOP. For many individuals, participation in self-help groups, ongoing therapy, or other forms of aftercare can be instrumental in maintaining recovery long-term.

How long is Cornerstone IOP?

Cornerstone’s Intensive Outpatient Program is 4-8 weeks. It’s important to note that the goal of an IOP is not only to help individuals stop using substances, but also to build the skills and strategies necessary for long-term recovery. Therefore, while the formal IOP may conclude after a certain period, ongoing participation in aftercare services, such as outpatient counseling, support groups, and other recovery maintenance activities, is often recommended to sustain the progress made during the IOP. As with all aspects of addiction treatment, the length and intensity of an IOP should be tailored to the individual’s unique needs and situation, and should be regularly reassessed to ensure that it continues to provide the appropriate level of support.

Does health insurance cover the program?

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs), like the one offered by Cornerstone Healing Center, are generally covered by health insurance.

The degree of coverage can vary significantly depending on the specifics of each insurance policy and the details of the program itself.

Typically, insurance plans cover a portion of the cost of IOPs as they are recognized as an essential part of comprehensive addiction treatment.

It’s important to verify coverage by directly contacting your health insurance provider and asking about your benefits.

Similarly, consultation with the treatment center is crucial to understand the cost of the program and how much your insurance is likely to cover.

Remember, investing in your recovery and mental health is an important step towards a healthier future.

What happens after IOP?

After IOP, many of our clients go into our Standard Outpatient rehab which is similar to IOP but fewer hours/days a week.

Our standard program is meant to help make the transition from treatment to the outside world slower and more effective.

However, not every client undergoing IOP will go to the Outpatient program. In some cases, depending on various factors, clients may go directly into aftercare, where they will have support through our sober coaching program.
