Licensed Therapist

JOB SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the agency’s Clinical Director, the Therapist is responsible for providing direct client care under the supervision of the Clinical Director. The Therapist also maintains a safe and efficient working and treatment environment per company policies, procedures and best practices; communicates effectively with the treatment team to ensure safe, quality care is provided to all clients.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Provides direct support services to include engaging clients in Individual and Group Therapy, topics related to 12-step recovery, health and wellness promotion, and crisis management.

2. Carry a caseload of up to 14; (Caseloads beyond 14 will be short-term when temporary due to coverage or staffing). Provide the following to members of caseload, including, but not limited to:

a. Behavioral Health Assessment (when indicate)

b. Suicide Evaluation (when/if indicated) and related safety planning and prioritization and de-escalation.

c. Re-Evaluation of behavior, diagnosis, and or presenting issue

d. Develops and provides individual treatment plans; monitors, evaluates and documents client’s progress.

i. Problem List, Behavioral Evidence, and status (prioritization)client need

ii. Individualized S.M.A.R.T. Treatment Planning

1. Goals developed in the words or ideas of the client, or in words the client can understand

2. Objectives that are steps to achieving the goal, which are measurable to achieving the goal.

3. Use of outcome tools (BASIS 32) in the creation of treatment plans.

4. Interventions which reflect the intended delivery of services.

5. Updates to reflect progress (and or lack of progress) to the elements of the treatment plan

e. Group Process and Caseload groups as assigned.

f. 1-hour individual session weekly

g. Case Management as needed.

h. Validation of Sponsor and engagement with the program and the clients personal program of recovery.

i. Family phone call weekly

j. Satisfaction Surveys and Outcome Tool Surveys

k. Discharge and Aftercare Planning

3. Monitors case load daily to ensure required documentation is completed timely; including, but not limited to, assessments, treatment plans, case reviews and discharge plans.

4. Assist in the rollout of treatment curricula and program enhancements, including integration of S.M.A.R.T. treatment planning.

5. Conducts assessments or screenings with clients to evaluate the nature of their presenting problems in order to determine their needs and develop appropriate treatment plan goals.

6. Has responsibility for clinical documentation. Prepares progress notes, event notifications and other documentation regarding clients in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.

7. Facilitates coordination of care to include case review, therapeutic interventions, and client progress in treatment.

8. Facilitate assigned group schedules and client engagement to ensure appropriate therapeutic services.

9. Support the measurement of treatment outcomes and service effectiveness.

10. Oversee assignment and distribution of caseloads and ensure continuity of care.

11. Respond to critical incidents and behavioral emergencies in accordance with policy.

12. Collaborate with admissions, case management, and medical teams to ensure wraparound care.

13. Participate in clinical oversight or clinical supervision assigned to you to improve your skills and knowledge, review of case notes, and improve service delivery.

14. Participates in daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual management meetings.

15. Collaborates and maintains positive relationships with the assigned clinical supervisor, office staff, contractors, regulating agencies, and clients.

16. Report unresolved client complaints and grievances to the Clinical Director.

17. Duty to report susspected or alleged events to the Clinical Director and be involved in the report to appropriate agencies with the Clinical Director or Administrator.

18. May be “on call” for emergency situations.

19. Complete other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

● 21 years or older;

● 2+ Years of recovery experience, if self-disclosed in recovery.

● Master’s Degree and Licensed in AZ in a field related to Behavioral Health, this includes: MC, MSW, LIAC, LAAC, PhD. Or Licensed Professional health care provider or

● Bachelor’s Degree in a non-related field and at least one year of full-time Behavioral Health work experience, or

● Adhere to the Cornerstone Healing Center code of ethics

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND ATTITUDES REQUIRED

1. Knowledge of recovery models, 12 Step Recovery, and the application of the recovery process.

2. Knowledge of software programs for personal computer use, especially word processing, email, and spreadsheets.

3. Knowledge and experience in counseling and case management with substance abuse clients.

4. Ability to prepare, implement, and analyze treatment plans and psychiatric reports.

5. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to carry out assigned projects to their completion.

6. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, gaining cooperation and resolving conflicts.

7. Ability to plan and organize case workload, manage deadlines of him/herself.

8. Ability to maintain and demonstrate ethical professional standards and demeanor, including the confidentiality of employee and client data, client boundaries, and other sensitive information.

9. Demonstrated competence with, and continued commitment to respect for cultural differences and diversity, protecting client rights.

10. Recognition of the limits of one’s own professional expertise and the willingness to seek supervision and/or support, as needed.

11. Makes clinical and organizational decisions with the clients’ and agency’s well-being and best interests in mind.

12. Provide treatment that promotes client dignity, independence, individuality, strength, privacy and choice, recognizing the unique needs of the client population served by the agency.

13. Provide the behavioral health services that the agency is authorized to provide and that the staff member is qualified to provide.

14. Recognize obvious symptoms of a mental disorder, personality disorder, or substance abuse.

15. Identify types of medications commonly prescribed for mental disorders, personality disorders and substance abuse, and the common side effects and adverse reactions to medications.

16. Recognize, prevent and respond to a situation in which the client may be a danger to himself or others, behaves in an aggressive or destructive manner, is experiencing a crisis situation or medical emergency.

17. Recognize and respond to fire, disaster, hazard, and medical emergency: and

18. Has completed all of the requirements above and is documented in application in training including the ability to pass background checks required by Cornerstone Healing Center.

19. Demonstrated competence with, and continued commitment to respect for cultural differences and diversity.

20. Recognition of the limits of one’s own professional expertise and the willingness to seek supervision and/or support, as needed.

Pay: $65,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
