IOP for Addiction Treatment

Our IOP addiction treatment provides ongoing structure and clinical support for individuals who are ready to take on more independence while continuing to work toward recovery from drugs or alcohol. The program allows clients to keep up with their everyday responsibilities while having consistent access to therapy, accountability, and a supportive recovery environment.

Treatment focuses on helping clients apply recovery skills to real-life situations rather than addressing addiction only within a clinical setting. Through individual and group therapy, relapse prevention, coping skills development, and personalized support, clients can learn to recognize triggers, manage cravings, navigate challenges, and make healthier decisions when faced with situations that could threaten their recovery.

IOP for Mental Health

Cornerstone offers quality mental health care for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and more that does not require you to put your life on hold. Our mental health IOP in Scottsdale and Phoenix gives individuals a place to work through struggles while continuing to navigate work, school, family, and other important parts of daily life. A balance of clinical support and real-world application can help individuals build greater confidence and make meaningful, sustainable changes.

Rather than focusing only on symptom management, our program helps clients develop a deeper understanding of their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships. Through therapy, guided discussions, psychoeducation, and practical exercises, clients can learn to recognize unhelpful patterns, improve emotional regulation, communicate more effectively, and respond to stress in healthier ways.

IOP for Dual Diagnosis

When substance use and mental health concerns occur together, they can create patterns that are difficult to break without addressing both. Our dual diagnosis IOP gives clients the opportunity to work through these interconnected challenges as part of one coordinated treatment plan, rather than treating addiction and mental health as separate challenges.

Treatment helps clients identify the thoughts, emotions, experiences, and circumstances that may contribute to substance use or intensify mental health symptoms. Through therapy, education, and ongoing clinical support, clients can develop healthier ways to respond to stress, process difficult emotions, manage symptoms, and navigate triggers without relying on drugs or alcohol.

What We Treat in Our IOP

At Cornerstone Healing Center, our IOP offers a comprehensive approach to treatment that fits into your daily life. We specialize in treating a range of mental health conditions and types of substance use through evidence-based methods. These include:

Does my insurance cover intensive outpatient programs?

Your insurance may cover our intensive outpatient programs. We encourage you to complete our commitment-free insurance verification form to learn more about your health insurance coverage for our IOP treatment program.

Our intensive outpatient program typically lasts 4-8 weeks at each level of care, but the exact duration may vary depending on your needs and progress.

We use various treatment options, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to change negative thought patterns, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to ensure emotional stability, and motivational interviewing to encourage change.

Our intensive outpatient program includes comprehensive group therapy, family counseling, and experiential treatments such as art and music to provide a holistic approach to substance use treatment.

Our aftercare options include ongoing individual therapy sessions, access to group therapy, and engagement in various wellness activities that reinforce recovery principles.

In addition, some clients may gradually step down to our less intensive outpatient programs, including virtual options, allowing for a more effortless adjustment to daily life while still receiving structured support.

An IOP may be the right fit when weekly therapy isn’t providing enough support to manage symptoms or maintain stability. Common signs include difficulty keeping up with daily responsibilities, struggling to maintain relationships, or feeling like progress in treatment has stalled. If you’re unsure whether IOP is the right level of care, our admissions team can help you find the best next step.

Let's begin the journey together
